Graduates speak out!

My study abroad experience created
A step towards becoming a global hotelier

  • Teacher x Graduate

The time I spent in Trajal
    A treasure to me.

Mr. H, Okayama Higashi Commercial High School (Okayama Prefecture)

After graduating from the International Hotel Department, he joined The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto and is currently in charge of restaurant and bar reception at HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO.

  • During my time at school, I was particularly impressed by
Do you have any stories about your teacher?

I have an anecdote about Professor Harayama that I would go so far as to say changed my life. When I was a student, I had a strong admiration for the brand The Ritz-Carlton. After studying abroad, I began to think that I wanted to value elements unique to Japan, and I decided that "I want to work here," and that's where The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto was. However, I had no connections in the industry and was just dreaming about it, so Professor Harayama said, "I know someone at the Ritz Kyoto," and introduced me to someone on the ground. Because Professor Harayama himself trusted him, I was able to enter the workplace with peace of mind, and I was able to learn a lot while actually working there.

Long-term study abroad in the United States
What did you think when you used it?

I'm really glad I went. Not only did I improve my English, but I also gained the ability to accept diverse values. I learned the importance of expressing my thoughts in words, and that experience is still useful in my current interactions with guests.

How would you describe your time at this school in one word?

It's a treasure. I feel that the people I've met, the things I've learned, and the experiences I've had have all made me who I am today.
