Hello everyone!
I'm Okada from the hotel department (*'∀')
It's a very hot summer again this year, how are you spending your time?
Speaking of summer, there are many events such as fireworks festivals!
I come from a hotel background in Kyoto, and August 8th is by far the busiest day of the year for hoteliers working in Kyoto.
what day is today…?
The correct answer is
“Kyoto Gozan Okuribi”!
Many people have probably seen a mountain stretched out on fire somewhere.
Children's Okuribi, which is famous nationwide as a summer tradition in Kyoto, is also known as ``Daimonji Okuribi.''
Kyoto Gozan Okuribi is a traditional event where the spirits of the ancestors who returned during the Obon festival are sent off by lighting up letters with flames on the five mountains surrounding Kyoto City.
In addition to Ooji, there are also ``Myo-ho'', ``Funagata'', and ``Torii-gata''.
Even though there were concerns about the effects of the weather this year, the fire was lit safely!
It is a nationally famous traditional event that is a summer feature of Kyoto, and on this day many people from all over the country come to Kyoto to watch the okuribi from their hotel rooms, banquet halls, and restaurants. The hotel inside is very busy.
There are many people who have made reservations for this day more than a year in advance!!!
Being able to spend such special moments with our guests is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a hotelier.
If you have any events that are unique to your hometown, please let us know when you come to the open campus (^^♪
